Good the yarn doesn’t bleed or run (my biggest worry).

The resulting size after washing on cold and drying on medium is:

4 1/2″ x 2″ (4.5 st/in x 6 r/in).

Original Specs: The swatch dimensions (so I don’t forget are) 4 5/8 x 2 1/8, 20 stitches x 18 rows (4 st/ in 5 r/in), before washing. I’m going to wash on cold and tumble dry on ??? On size 6 Denise needles.

This represents a shrinkage of 1/8″ in either direction, not too bad at all!

1/8″ over 4″ is .03″ shrink per inch. This means a 42″ sweater will shrink to approximately 40.75″. So, I should be okay with the medium. Yay!

Now to determine the striping… I’m casting on tonight!
